Candle Types & Usage

Essential oils are natural, volatile, and sensitive to heat—so candle type matters for scent performance.

Which candle types are best for essential oils?
Aromatherapy candles Vegan candles with essential oils
✅ Best: Jar Candles with Lids Recommended
  • Why: Jar candles are enclosed, helping trap and retain essential-oil aroma.
  • Added protection: Lids reduce evaporation, protect from dust, and preserve the blend when not in use.
  • Result: More consistent and noticeable aroma each burn session.
⚠️ Less Effective: Pillar Candles Open-air
  • Why: Exposed to open air and lack a protective container.
  • Faster evaporation reduces scent strength and longevity.
  • Note: Beautiful naturally, but not ideal for strong aromatherapy effects.
Are designer candles suitable for essential oils?

Not always. Decorative shapes (teddy bears, peonies, flowers, etc.) can look beautiful, but they’re not ideal for aromatherapy with essential oils.

⚠️ Why designer candles don’t work well with essential oils
  • Uneven burn: Can affect how scent is released.
  • No lid or container: Open air causes faster evaporation.
  • Wasted aroma: Essential oils may evaporate before the candle is even lit.
🔒 Our approach: We blend at precise temperatures, pour in small batches, and use protective lids to maintain integrity and fragrance strength.
✅ Our suggestion: Avoid using essential oils in pillar and designer-shaped candles. They’re better for visual appeal, occasional décor, or unscented/mild options. For strong aromatherapy, choose jar candles with lids.
